Real Estate Blogging - Tying Up Loose Ends

Wow! It’s been an exciting week before Christmas. First of all, the real estate blogosphere exchanged gifts during the Yankee Blog Swap. It was great because it put many real estate bloggers on each other’s radar.

Even though he wasn’t participating, Derek Burress made a great summary post of all 28 bloggers. He even decided to judge the head to head bloggers, even though we weren’t competing - we were just exchanging. Anyway, his summaries were good. Hopefully he’ll get invited to the next Yankee Blog Swap.

Thanks again to Pat Kitano at Transparent Real Estate for inviting me and Mary McKnight for setting the whole thing up. Thanks also to Kevin Boer for making a great post about the relationship between mortgage brokers and realtors. I think far too many people are suspect

of individuals in these professions. If they only knew I could lose my mortgage license if I even took a real estate agent to lunch and paid for it! People in the real estate professions have loyalties because they trust their compatriots to do their jobs well. After all, our livelihoods depend on everyone in the process following through in a timely and effective manner.

Besides the real estate blog swap going on, the bloggers in this group are trying to start a new meme about five things we didn’t know about each other. Kevin Boer tagged me so I’ll have to respond soon. I’ve got some humdingers, but I’ll save that for another post - something real soon. And I have some ideas on how to expand the circle involved. It’ll be a six degrees of seperation type of thing.

Finally, I will have a Christmas gift for all of you. If you asked your brother for advice about buying a home in a “bubble” area, would you trust the response? Well, that happened to me recently and I’ll share the response I gave my own brother. No lies or misrepresentation here.
